Liz is a photographer and I first met her when she photographed my newborn baby in December. Being a photographer I just love weddings, which is a good job really as I am planning my third. Well technically not a wedding but Mr G and I are going to renew our vows next year.

March 11th 2016 will be our tenth wedding anniversary. Most people will celebrate with flowers, a meal out, nice sparkly jewellery (if we are lucky, eh girls?) or traditionally buy diamonds (see sparkly things) or tin or aluminium. Today’s absolutely beautiful country-vintage-inspired wedding was submitted by Cambridgeshire florist, Katie, who we interviewed on the blog last week. Katie and her business partner Lisa provided the flowers and cake for this wonderful relaxed celebration and the Bride’s dress also came from Cambridgeshire bridal shop Shades of White. Katie Humphrey is one half of flower-and-cake-team Buns and Roses and is a regular guest blogger for Bicycle Made for Two. I caught up with Katie to ask her about her floristry business and to find out how she fits being a wedding supplier around her busy family life. I have so much respect for Katie who has retrained as a florist after her two young children were born and although she is relatively new to the craft just look at the photos of her work included in this article to see how much skill and professionalism she has brought to her new business.

DIY Tutorial: Peppermint Bark Chocolate Heart Favours

If you are planning to make your own favours these Peppermint Bark Chocolate Hearts from The Vintage Teacup Hire Company are quick and easy to make! You can give them out individually with coffee at the end of your meal or wrap them up in groups for your guests to take home. Not just for weddings, why not have a go at making them for birthdays, valentines or Christmas prezzies too!

What you need:

(Makes 16)
One bar of Green and Blacks Fairtrade White Chocolate (100g)
One bar of Green and Blacks Fairtrade Dark Chocolate (100g)
6-8 mini candy canes

Jarrod and Vicky’s Laughter-filled Cambridge College Wedding

We’ve all got to start somewhere so I am delighted and privileged to be able to bring you such a beautiful set of images as my first ever blog post. I came across Vicky and Jarrod’s wedding on the blog of their wonderful photographer Annie Lovett. I was delighted to meet Annie in the run up to launching the blog today and she has offered me so much support over the last few weeks that it really is right that she should be honoured by our first blog post.

Vicky and Jarrod married in August 2014 at Girton College, Cambridge. Vicky told us: “Since Jarrod was studying at Cambridge University we decided that a wedding in a college would be perfect – we also thought it would be great for all of the family and friends coming from overseas. The red bricks of Girton College were an immediate attraction and the staff there made us feel very confident that they would look after us on the day!”
