Introducing Bride-to-Be Liz and Mr G

Liz Greenhalgh - Blogging Bride - IntroductionOn Bicycle Made for Two we are really excited to feature local suppliers, photographers and venues but we’re also excited about real brides too. We are looking for Cambridgeshire Brides who are planning their weddings in September 2015 or later to get in touch and tell us about your planning experiences. You could see your wedding featured here and share your planning journey with us too. Get in touch to find out more: [email protected]

In the meantime it is my very great pleasure to welcome our very first blogging bride-to-be onto Bicycle Made for Two. Liz is a photographer and I first met her when she photographed my newborn baby in December. She certainly knows a thing or two about weddings so when she told me about her Pinterest Boards I knew that you would all enjoy hearing about her planning journey. — Kirsty xx

Being a photographer I just love weddings, which is a good job really as I am planning my third. Well technically not a wedding but Mr G and I are going to renew our vows next year.

March 11th 2016 will be our tenth wedding anniversary. Most people will celebrate with flowers, a meal out, nice sparkly jewellery (if we are lucky, eh girls?) or traditionally buy diamonds (see sparkly things) or tin or aluminium. Don’t tell Mr G that bit or I will be getting a new set of saucepans! Continue reading

CJ and Tom’s Relaxed Garden Party Wedding in France

Photo by John Hope Photography // www.johnhopephotography.comToday’s absolutely beautiful country-vintage-inspired wedding was submitted by Cambridgeshire florist, Katie, who we interviewed on the blog last week. Katie and her business partner Lisa provided the flowers and cake for this wonderful relaxed celebration and the Bride’s dress also came from Cambridgeshire bridal shop Shades of White. Which, given that the wedding took place in the charming town of Plumeliau in France, just goes to show the quality of our suppliers here in Cambridgeshire. These guys are internationally renowned!Photo by John Hope Photography // www.johnhopephotography.comEveryone loves a destination wedding. The unfamiliarity of the landscape, the Continue reading

Laura and James’ Elegant Monochrome Cambridge College Wedding

Blog_117It was difficult to imagine how I could follow last week’s launch with another real wedding that you would all love quite as much. However, I think Laura and James’ effortlessly elegant monochrome wedding with twists of rustic and vintage charm rises to the challenge beautifully. These images from Rebecca Wedding Photography have whisked me off to a place of wedding euphoria. This wedding oozes personality, quirkiness and features masses of soft natural light.

Blog_096I fell in love with this wedding before I’d even seen the pictures because by Continue reading

Meet the Suppliers: Katie Humphrey from Buns and Roses

Katie Humphrey is one half of flower-and-cake-team Buns and Roses and is a regular guest blogger for Bicycle Made for Two. I caught up with Katie to ask her about her floristry business and to find out how she fits being a wedding supplier around her busy family life. I have so much respect for Katie who has retrained as a florist after her two young children were born and although she is relatively new to the craft just look at the photos of her work included in this article to see how much skill and professionalism she has brought to her new business.

Tell me about yourself. What do you do when you aren’t doing floristry?

I live with my husband and our two children, Jonah aged 4 and Maggie aged 1, in St.Ives in Cambridgeshire.  Life for us is pretty typical of life with such young kids, too many early wake-ups, too much Disney, and occasionally too Continue reading

Jarrod and Vicky’s Laughter-filled Cambridge College Wedding

Jarrod and Vicky - Girton College Cambridge - Annie Lovett Photography 90We’ve all got to start somewhere so I am delighted and privileged to be able to bring you such a beautiful set of images as my first ever blog post. I came across Vicky and Jarrod’s wedding on the blog of their wonderful photographer Annie Lovett. I was delighted to meet Annie in the run up to launching the blog today and she has offered me so much support over the last few weeks that it really is right that she should be honoured by our first blog post.

Jarrod and Vicky - Girton College Cambridge - Annie Lovett Photography 98Vicky and Jarrod married in August 2014 at Girton College, Cambridge. Vicky told us: “Since Jarrod was studying at Cambridge University we decided that a wedding in a college would be perfect – we also thought it would be great for all of the family and friends coming from overseas. The red bricks of Girton College were an immediate attraction and the staff there made us feel very confident that they would look after us on the day!”
