On Bicycle Made for Two we are really excited to feature local suppliers, photographers and venues but we’re also excited about real brides too. We are looking for Cambridgeshire Brides who are planning their weddings in September 2015 or later to get in touch and tell us about your planning experiences. You could see your wedding featured here and share your planning journey with us too. Get in touch to find out more: [email protected]
In the meantime it is my very great pleasure to welcome our very first blogging bride-to-be onto Bicycle Made for Two. Liz is a photographer and I first met her when she photographed my newborn baby in December. She certainly knows a thing or two about weddings so when she told me about her Pinterest Boards I knew that you would all enjoy hearing about her planning journey. — Kirsty xx
Being a photographer I just love weddings, which is a good job really as I am planning my third. Well technically not a wedding but Mr G and I are going to renew our vows next year.

March 11th 2016 will be our tenth wedding anniversary. Most people will celebrate with flowers, a meal out, nice sparkly jewellery (if we are lucky, eh girls?) or traditionally buy diamonds (see sparkly things) or tin or aluminium. Don’t tell Mr G that bit or I will be getting a new set of saucepans!
Mr G and I met in February 2002, had our first date at East in Peterborough on 13th March 2002, a place we go back to for special occasions. I guess you can call us a modern couple as we met online.

I had recently split with my then husband and Mr G had been separated from his wife. A colleague at work suggested I join a site. At the time I really wasn’t interested but to keep them quiet I joined for a week. I had 3 rules: – he couldn’t be blonde, I don’t like blondes! He had to have a picture. He couldn’t have the same name as my ex-husband. Simple, or so I thought. Within a few hours I had some messages and one was quite witty but…
He didn’t have a picture, he told me he was blonde and can you guess the last bit…? He had the same name as my ex-husband.

Well the rest is history. Mr G proposed in 2004, we got married in 2006 and now we are going to do it again. In some people’s eyes that may be too quick but in that short ten years we’ve been through a lot personally. During all of it though Mr G has been my rock. He’s a bit of a smaller rock than he used to be, between us we’ve lost about 15 stone. So a new wedding type dress is definitely on the cards.
We’ve sorted out a venue, something very intimate, something cosy, just how we like it. I am pinning ideas on Pinterest like made. I know what kind of feel I want to the whole day, vintage with a classical twist. Think soft hues, lace, hessian and lots of loveliness.

As we are married but just renewing our vows, we’ve decided on using a celebrant for the ceremony. I’ve met Rebecca at a few wedding fayres and she is lovely. Together with her husband Dave, they run White Rose Ceremonies. I can’t give much detail away just yet about our ceremony but it will be something very unique and personal.
So venue sorted, celebrant sorted, flowers are work in progress all I need to find is ‘the’ dress!
